Pretence

Pretense

Who am I . I once thought
My name maybe  X and or  may be Y
I wish to seem Wealthy and rich
Just to fit in the social glitch
Silk and brocade should be the basic needs
Wines and cognacs ... ohhh yes please
Engines on wheels define what you are
Leathers, velvet and suede should be all faux
It is only to portray your kindness
But workmanship should have a finesse

Despite my interest, Golf I play
Dispassionate however I am, Its wine I crave
Its mansions I have to build and cruises to travel
Mysteries of the world are for me to unravel
The jewels and fineries, my proud possessions
My head goes high for my achieved excellence

Now I know who I am
Of The elite few ...sure I am
However; now a golf pro
Hitting hard is all I used to know
A whole vineyard I own now
And gift the wines to a selected few
Globe trotter now an achieved title
Its others who I now belittle

In the gold Belgian  mirror I reflect
Is this the same me I suspect
Neither am I weary or dread the pretenses
I have surrendered myself to the social glitches
At the beginning of the journey I thought I was X or Y
I have left them so long ago and unknowingly why...
Now I don't have any identity, as all I am is pretense
Even though I have everything, there is a vacuum of sense

Who am I . I now think

X and Y are nowhere to be seen.....

                                            Something to think about
                                            Always.....

                                                                                                   The Curios Cat
