Watched Queen yesterday. Its a
moderately good movie. Not worth of such a hype it has created. But
compared to all the rest of the crop, this one may have definitely stood
out. Yes, Kangana Ranaut did a good job, playing the naive girl next
door, especially considering her onscreen image, it was very pleasing to
see a pure character portrayed by her. Otherwise the movie did not have
many outstanding features. Many scenes were just forcefully put it,
which did not go organically with the movie, liek the gol gappa scene and
the Roxana scene. Though the first kiss scene should have been shot
more aesthetically. Rajkumar Yadav did a good job of the shallow
betrayer. The shopping scene with the boys was hilarious ... something
never shown in Bollywood movies.
All in all a good movie, but could have been much better with a fast pace. The songs could have been definitely better. I did not enjoy the songs that much. In a romantic movie like this which is sort of a desi version of DDLJ, I had expected much better songs. Seeing this movie ' Jaa beti, jee le apni zindagi ' came to my mind and hence the comparison to DDLJ.
This is one movie for sure which does not have the need to get a closure, with Queen ultimately falling in love with someone. A new aspect to movies that says marriage is not the ultimate goal in life. Explore the world, and you will be a totally different person.
Very courageous of the directors to not link Rani to any of the boys in the end. Typically it would have been one of the boys from her Hostel. Neither do they come to India to visit have a typical love story. They become friends and then move on. Stay in touch though !!!!
Definitely the director had a very good vision and could portay it pretty well.
This is my take on Queen, what do you think !!!
